Reverse depicts a flying eagle over sun rays, with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “TWENTY DOLLARS,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
This design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens is widely regarded as one of the most important American coin designs of the early 20th century. The 1927 issue is a Philadelphia Mint coin, indicated by the absence of a mint mark. Standard specifications are 90% gold and 10% copper, with a diameter of approximately 34 mm and gold content of 0.9675 troy oz.
