This pair of pilasters feature busts of crowned or sunburst-style figures at the top and deeply carved vertical foliate patterns down the length. Likely salvaged from a large piece of 19th-century European furniture or interior architectural woodwork. These elements showcase Renaissance Revival styling with a touch of Folk Gothic inspiration. Likely continental European circa 1850 - 1880. Piece 1 Dimensions: 30.75” high x 2.5” wide x 1.75” deep; Piece 2 Dimensions: 26.5” high x 3.25” wide x 1.75” deep.
Condition
Fair condition for age and use. Due to nature of architectural salvage some pieces may have damage, chips, need cleaning, etc.
One of the panels is missing the top component and the other is missing the bottom. There are some signs of wear and holes throughout. See photos for more details.
Available payment options
Item pickup is Tuesday, August 26th from 2-7pm in Kansas City, MO. Winning bidders will need to sign up for a pickup appointment time. Winning bidders will receive the full address on their invoice. Brown Button contracts with a third party mover to provide a delivery option for our bidders. Delivery is available within 25 miles of the sale location. Bidders will need to submit a delivery request form using the delivery link emailed with their invoice.
