This pair of antique hand carved hardwood pilasters feature stylized foliate and fruit carvings along with a central figure playing a wind instrument—possibly a flute or recorder. The figure, surrounded by curls and floral motifs, evokes Renaissance or folk traditions, and may reference mythological woodland spirits or allegorical representations of music. Likely used as vertical architectural or furniture trim. Likely mid to late 1800’s from continental Europe or the British Isles. Dimensions: Approximately 24” high x 3” wide x 1” deep.

Condition

Fair condition for age and use. Due to nature of architectural salvage some pieces may have damage, chips, need cleaning, etc. See photos for more details.
