This is a rare and highly significant Shaker imprint. First and only edition of one of the most important sacred texts published by the Shakers during the Era of Manifestations (1837–1850). This remarkable work is a direct expression of the Shakers’ belief in continuing divine revelation, and it documents spiritual messages, divine laws, and prophetic warnings received by Shaker visionaries in New Lebanon, NY.
Issued in two parts:
- Part I presents general spiritual messages and divine proclamations.
- Part II expands into inspired laws, sacred testimonies, and revelations directed at leaders, churches, and nations.
Printed entirely within the Shaker community of Canterbury, New Hampshire, this book represents one of the most ambitious publishing efforts of the Shaker movement.
