Gracefully carved Madonna and Child figure, attributed to an unknown Filipino artist, depicting the Virgin Mary cradling the infant Jesus. Hand-carved in solid wood with flowing drapery, serene facial expressions, and a warm natural finish. The sculpture rests on a tiered pedestal base, with the Virgin standing upon stylized clouds - a form associated with Hispano-Filipino devotional art traditions.
This piece exemplifies mid-20th-century Philippine craftsmanship rooted in colonial Catholic imagery, combining European stylistic influence with regional folk carving sensibility.

Condition
Very good with natural patina and age-appropriate wear. Back corner of the base is chipped off and could use repair. See photos for more details.

Item pickup is Wednesday, October 22nd from 11am-7pm in Loch Lloyd, MO (64012). Winning bidders will need to sign up for a pickup appointment time.
