This pair of antique hand carved architectural wood elements are possibly tribal or folk art-inspired corbels, brackets, or decorative beams. The carvings depict stylized human faces, geometric patterns, and symbolic shapes. This pair features a male and a female figure. This kind of design work is often associated with African, Oceanic, or Polynesian traditional woodwork, but it can also be found in folk art or colonial revival pieces. Finished with a dark stain. Dimensions each: 31.5” high x 3.5” wide x 2” deep.
