Young Chang G-157 (S/N 070147), a 62′′ (5 2′′) high-gloss ebony baby grand dating to approximately 1992. Dimensions: 40′′ H x 58′′ W x 62′′ L. Case: High-gloss black (ebony polish). Three pedals (sustain, soft/una corda, middle), Young Chang, founded in 1956 in Seoul, South Korea by the Kim brothers, grew into one of the world’s largest piano manufacturers. The G-157 was built at their Incheon, South Korea factory — the Korean-made era is widely regarded as their best production quality. This instrument features a solid spruce soundboard, German Rösslau wire strings, a 21-ply hard maple pinblock, and vacuum-processed cast iron plate.
