Celebrate America’s founding with this richly illustrated 1876 centennial edition of The Life and Times of Washington by famed author Washington Irving. Published by G.P. Putnam’s Sons and J.B. Holland, this handsome volume offers a single-volume abridgment of Irving’s acclaimed multi-volume biography of George Washington, complete with fine steel engravings by artists such as Darley and Trumbull.
Bound in a striking period full leather spine with raised bands and gilt tooling, this collector’s edition was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the American Republic. Includes an engraving of the Washington Monument in Richmond, Virginia and other historical imagery throughout.
