This set of three masks are Harvest Dance Masks of the Guro people from the Ivory Coast of Africa. They are constructed from wood with woven detailing. There are different types of Guro masks that are worn during festivals of the harvest. It is said the bird represents the harvest of the mind, the horns represent the cow that brings the grain in from the fields, the fish represent the bounty from the rivers and the snake and the scorpion and elephants represent power and strength. Smallest mask dimensions: 18” H x 5.5” W x 4” D; Largest mask dimensions: 32.5” H x 9” W x 6.25” D.
