Philomene Bennett (American, b. 1935) is a celebrated Kansas City painter known for her richly layered abstracts and luminous color fields. A co-founder of the Kansas City Artists Coalition in 1975, Bennett played a vital role in shaping the city’s contemporary art scene. Her work, marked by expressive brushwork and meditative color harmonies, has been exhibited widely throughout the Midwest and is represented in numerous public and private collections.
