This pair of salvaged architectural elements are crafted from hardwood, likely oak or walnut, with dark aged finish. These antique carved wooden figural mounts feature a bearded male and bare-breasted female, each with stylized headdresses and crossed arms. Likely used as architectural or furniture appliqués, these deeply carved pieces reflect Continental Baroque Revival or Gothic folk influences. Origin is likely Continental Europe circa 1880. Dimensions: 25” high x 3.75” wide x 2.5” deep.
Fair for age and use. There are signs of wear throughout, including chips to the wood and imperfections/scratches to the finish. There are several nails. See photos for more details.
