This colorful installation features nine distinct panels from the “Etched Color Fields” series by American Artist Michael Hoffman (born in NYC and is now based in St. Louis). The panels in this specific series are oil and mixed media on wood panels where Hoffman often coats wood panels with a plaster mixture and carves into them before it sets, creating markings reminiscent of nautical maps or celestial charts. He applies multiple rounds of thinned oil paint color washes, resulting in a richly colored glass like surface. The high gloss finish reflects ambient light, causing the appearance of the work to shift.

Condition
Very good, showing only minor signs of wear. Some of the corners of the tiles show wear, specifically the dark green has three of the four corners that are slightly missing the finish. See photos for more condition details.

Item pickup is Wednesday, July 22nd from 12 30pm to 6pm in St Charles, MO 63304. Winning bidders will need to sign up for a pickup appointment time. Winning bidders will receive the full address on their invoice. Brown Button contracts with a third party mover to provide a delivery option for our bidders. Delivery is available within 25 miles of the sale location. Bidders will need to submit a delivery request form using the delivery link emailed with their invoice.
