Lonnie Powell “In the Face of All We Remember” signed/numbered Giclee 1/20. Dimensions: 54.75” H x 39.5” W. Lonnie Powell had a long career as an educator in KC public schools before focusing full-time on his art after his retirement. In 2001, he founded The Light in the Other Room, a collaborative of African American artists in the Kansas City area. The group works on communal, public art, exhibits, mentorship, and community-based themes. His work is part of many public and private collections including: Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, American Jazz Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, and Arrowhead Art Collection (Kansas City Chiefs) to name a few.
