There is a newspaper article that comes with the piece that states the homes it has resided in: “Wickland: One of the best known homes in Bardstown, the residence of Mr. And Mrs. R.S. Trigg is known as the ‘home of three governors’. The first owner of the home, Charles A. Wickliffe, served as governor of Kentucky and as postmaster general of the United States. His son, Robert Wickliffe became governor of Louisiana, and his grandson, J.C.W. Beckman, governor of Kentucky.”

Condition

Good for the age of this piece: there are some scratches in the glass cabinets. The cabinet doesn’t stay closed without a wedge. The lower part of the desk has some loose drawer knobs. There is age showing where the leather inlaid section is separating from the wood. Some marks inside the bottom of the small drawers. Roll top functions fine. Key present in lower cabinet. Noticeable scratches and cracks in the wood specifically on the right side near the bottom base where there are a couple significant splits. The desk writing area has some gouges in the wood. See photos for more condition details.
