This silk satin scarf was dyed using natural dyes with a technique called eco-printing.  Fresh Eucalyptus leaves were steamed in the silk, allowing the natural pigments to transfer onto it.  The beautiful rust tones transfer as an ethereal print across the silk. 

The artist generously donated this piece. Jenny Chang is an artist living in Overland Park, KS, who specializes in natural dye work. As a painter and dye artist, Jenny creates colorful art to wear and display in the home as a way to connect with nature.  What starts as a fresh flower grown in her garden may soon become a delicate silk scarf to wear with your favorite outfit.
