An Antique carved solid oak or walnut pair of dining armchairs that are part of a full dining set. Some of the unique features include caned back and seats, ornate hand-carved foliage and floral motifs covering most viewable areas, and, scroll feet. 

This substantial piece of furniture from the Carolean or Restoration Era (1606-1688) highlighting the shifting from Puritan influence to an opulent Baroque aesthetic, and ushers in the return of King Charles II and the monarchy.

The legend goes that around 1942, the clients grandmother went to an estate sale of Isabella Stewart Gardner’s personal home collection. Gardner was an American art collector, philanthropist, and patron of the arts, and founder of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. Notoriously, in the 1990’s, there was a robbery, and the mystery remains unsolved.
