Haviland France porcelain plate attributed to noted American ceramic artist and designer Dorothea Warren O'Hara (1873–1972), hand-inscribed to underside “Dorothea Warren 1904.” Reverse bears Haviland France maker's mark and retains an original printed “Department of Art / Louisiana Purchase Exposition / St. Louis, 1904 / ARTISTS' LABEL.” The Louisiana Purchase Exposition was the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Dorothea Warren, later Dorothea Warren O'Hara, was a Kansas City-born American ceramicist and designer known particularly for porcelain decoration and raised-enamel work. The Metropolitan Museum of Art documents her designs being executed on Haviland & Co. Limoges porcelain and holds examples of her later ceramic work. Dimensions: 1.75" H x 13.5" diameter.
