Wounaan Indian woven baskets are highly intricate, award-winning art pieces handcrafted by Embera-Wounaan women in Panama’s Darien rainforest using natural chunga (black palm) and nahuala fibers. These baskets use fine coiling techniques-sometimes called silk stitching-to create detailed, durable, and often geometric or nature-inspired designs, which can take months to produce.
Very good, showing only minor signs of wear. See photos for more condition details.
