A Victorian-era coal box, or purdonium, designed for storing coal next to a fireplace hearth. It features two repousse door panels in a marsh scene and the interior is lined with a black metal casing to protect the wood from coal and debris. Dimensions: 17" H x 13.75" W x 18" D.

Good, visible wear consistent with average use. The metal casing inside has rusted out slightly in the back bottom corners and the metal on the front of the scoop is slightly warped. See photos for more condition details.
