A Victorian-era coal box, or purdonium, designed for storing coal next to a fireplace hearth. It features two repousse door panels in a marsh scene and the interior is lined with a black metal casing to protect the wood from coal and debris. Dimensions: 17" H x 13.75" W x 18" D.

Condition
Good, visible wear consistent with average use. The metal casing inside has rusted out slightly in the back bottom corners and the metal on the front of the scoop is slightly warped. See photos for more condition details.

Item pickup is Wednesday, July 22nd from 11am to 6pm in Kansas City, MO 64105. Winning bidders will need to sign up for a pickup appointment time. Winning bidders will receive the full address on their invoice. Delivery is available within 25 miles of the sale location. Bidders will need to submit a delivery request form using the delivery link emailed with their invoice. Delivery for winning bidders is Thursday, July 23rd between 9am and 5pm.
