19th-century black lacquer papier-mache writing lap desk or writing slope. It is extensively decorated with hand-painted gilt and mother-of-pearl inlay. The interior is lined with red velvet and has a glass ink well. Dimensions: 4" H x 13.25" W x 10.25" D.
Condition
Very good for age and use with light signs of wear. There is craquelure to the enamel finish on the exterior and interior. See photos for more condition details.

Item pickup is Thursday, January 8th from 12pm to 6pm in Kansas City, MO 64105. Winning bidders will need to sign up for a pickup appointment time.
