An antique pair of fine French Empire-style table lamps. The lamps eye catching feature are cast bronze caryatids who bear water urns. The base is black marble with gilded bronze designs mounted onto three sides. These designs are neoclassical decorations including a low-relief frieze of seated figures, two sides with a lion head with ring in its mouth, border embellishments, and, four ornate claw feet. Above the electrical lightbulb components and 12-sided neutral color shade, are cast bronze gryphon finials.
There is an aged white patina on most of the edges and indentations of the bronze areas. The marble base has some irregular edges that are felt instead of seen. One of the lamps has lost one claw foot, but the lamp is still sturdy on the table, this irregularity keeps the marble base from fitting snug into the rest of the bronze surrounding base. On the same lamp, the harp that holds the finial is wobbly. Dimensions: 37" H x 6" W x 6" D (shade: 12.5” H x 16” W x 14” D).
Fair, with noticeable wear that is mentioned in description; lamp turns on, has three way capabilities, and, has intact electrical plugs. See photos for more condition details.
