Antique Japanese Inro. Shagreen covered wood with metal fittings, likely from the Meiji period. Inro were small, portable cases used in Japan to carry small objects like medicine or seals, often suspended from a cord and worn with a netsuke (toggle) to secure it to a kimono sash (Obi).
Very good for age and use. Possible repair on outer surface and wear on the inside wood. See pictures.
