Hand-painted 19th-century oil portrait of a seated gentleman with dark hair, mutton-chop sideburns, and formal black attire. Rendered in a rich, realistic style typical of mid-Victorian American or British portraiture, this work captures period character and detail with excellent tonal depth. The oval presentation with a gold mat and dark wood frame highlights the sitter beautifully.
