Seven prehistoric North American grooved stone axes, ranging from approximately 4 1/2” to 5” in length. One of the axes is noted in pen to one side as being discovered in Pike County, Illinois (pen measurements written to the opposite side). The collection was acquired by the present owner in St. Louis in the 1970s.

Condition

Condition is as found. One of the axes has a very old loss to the bit end (sharpened end).

Item pickup for St. Louis residents is Wednesday, January 21st from 2pm to 6pm in Creve Coeur, MO 63141. Item pickup for Kansas City residents is Thursday, January 22nd from 2pm to 6pm in Shawnee, KS 66203. Winning bidders will need to sign up for a pickup appointment time. Winning bidders will receive the full address on their invoice. Brown Button contracts with a third party mover to provide a delivery option for our bidders. Delivery is available within 25 miles of the sale location. Bidders will need to submit a delivery request form using the delivery link emailed with their invoice.
