A mid-19th century bust-length portrait of a young woman housed in a heavy, ornate frame. The subject's hair is styled in a popular Victorian era hairstyle and the reverse displays unpainted wooden stretcher bars with wooden "keys" used to expand the canvas. The canvas itself shows a visible fabric weave, which was common for 19th century painters. Dimensions: 11.5" H x 9.25" W.

Condition
Good, visible wear consistent with average use. Craquelure consistent with age, but some minor abrasions to the surface of the paint. See photos for more condition details.

Item pickup is Friday, June 26th from 12pm to 6pm in Leawood, KS 66209. Winning bidders will need to sign up for a pickup appointment time.
