A 1925-D Indian Head Gold Quarter Eagle with a face value of $2.50. The 1925 Indian Head Quarter Eagle was designed by Bela Lyon Pratt and is one of the few U.S. coins featuring an incuse design, meaning the images are sunken into the coin rather than raised. This design was initially met with public skepticism due to concerns about dirt accumulating in the recessed areas, but these fears were unfounded. It weighs 4.2g and is 90% pure gold, 10% copper.
